CORDON INTERNATIONAL INC. was established and incorporated in 1993 as an importer of Food Processing and Packaging Machinery. It represents European and Japanese machinery manufacturers and collaborated and partnered with CORDON Japan with offices in Tokyo and Hongkong. The principal partners were Mr. Yasuo Ikeda and Mr. Richter C. Umali. The Philippine operation is owned and headed by Mr. Richter C. Umali.

In the early years, the company represented Franz Haas from Austria, maker of wafer and sugar cone ovens and equipment, TNA Packaging Machine from Australia, SCHAAF Technologie and TECNOPAST Bakery Equipment from Italy. Haas and TNA have since parted ways but CORDON has collaborated with SCHAAF Technologie from Germany, maker of Snackfood Extruder and complete plants, for more than 25 years to date. Similarly, BONGARD Bakery Ovens and equipment from France, the leading manufacturer of cutting-edge technology on bakery ovens has been in partnership with the company for more than 15 years. Other long-term partners are TRIMA Automatic Divider/Rounders from Germany, IPEKA Packaging from Finland, AZETT from Japan, and other suppliers of ancillary equipment.

The company has supported the Philippine Food Industry for almost 30 years supplying machinery and technology with highly trained and capable technicians and salespeople. The core strength of the company is its experience and manufacturing know-how from small, medium, and large food manufacturers. The company is dedicated in providing the right equipment for the right job and maximizing efficiency by rationalizing the process thru proper use of mechanization.
